April Simon Says Stamp card kit

I am totally lovin' the card kits from Simon Says Stamp.  It's so fun to get a little taste of new products without having to commit to a whole collection.  I am definitely finding things that I wouldn't normally buy.  Here is what comes in this months kit.

This is the inspiration page.

6 pieces of nice card stock.  It seems like every new kit gets more card stock added.

Lawn Fawn's new Bright Side paper.  So cute!

This is a really neat chevron clear overlay.

Washi tape, Prima flowers, ribbon, ink and a punch.

And last but not least this super cute stamp set designed by Kristina Werner.

If you've been on the fence about this monthly kit club, I whole heartily recommend giving it a try.  I have yet to be even slightly disappointed.

Thanks for stopping by!

My weekend project

This weekend I decided to tackle my stamp and wafer die storage, or I should say the lack of storage! I went to Office Max and picked up a couple of binders and a ton of plastic sleeves.
For the dies I used the InPlace storage sleeves. They are pretty heavy and have 2 4x6 pockets on each page.

For
my stamp storage I took regular 8 1/2x11 page protesters and put a piece of white cardstock in them and sewed a straight line through the middle. Then I took a craft knife and cut a slit under the stitching of the bottom half of the page.

Right now there's no rhyme or reason to the order of the stamps. I'm not done indexing some of the sets I have so there's a bunch that aren't in the binder yet, and I'm pretty sure I'll need another stamp binder. I'm just not ready to commit to a certain order yet. Lol! I'd love to know how everyone else stores and sorts their sets.

Happy St. Patricks Day!!

I realized the other day when I went to make a St. Patrick's day card that I don't have a stamp set for the holiday, but I did remember that I had the Joyful Jar set from CTMH.  Side note, I am totally obsessed with mason jar stamp sets!  The background paper is from Basic Grey Sweet Threads and the washi tape is from the smash book line.  The sentiment is from the Just for You CTMH set.  I went over the clovers with a clear spica pen and the pitch black spica pen on the sentiment.  When I was stamping the clover I was getting so frustrated because no matter what I did I couldn't get a clean image, and then I realized that's how the stamp was made. Doh!  I ended up using a blender pen to color in the distressed parts of the image.

Super simple card today

This is another card to build up my stash of just because cards.  For this one I used kraft cardstock and a stamp from Stamp Camp.  This was another great find from the stamp show!  Awesome stamps and an awesome owner. I used CTMH Desert Sand to stamp the image.  I really like the look of this color on kraft because it almost looks like a watermark.  The Hello! sentiment is from CTMH word puzzle.

A note for you

I'm trying to get better about sending out cards, not just for occasions but just because.  This is a card I made for that.  The stamps I used are from Endless Creations.  I went to a stamp show and they had a booth there.  Not only do they have great stamps but the owner is so nice, she even showed me a few new copic tricks!  The background paper is from Basic Grey Sweet Threads and I used copics to color the stamp image.  I also took a clear Spica pen and went over all of the insides of the flowers on the background paper.

Happy Birthday card

I made this card for my father in law's birthday.  I used Basic Grey Sweet Threads for the back ground paper and the ice cream cones are a stamp set from Amuse Studio called The Scoop and the sentiment is also from an Amuse set called Friends Furr-ever.  I colored the ice cream with copics and then went over them with a clear spica pen.  The pictures just don't do the sparkle justice.  Those pens are amazing!  I picked one up this past weekend at a stamp show and I never would have bought it if I hadn't seen the sparkle in person.

Peep Easter card

I love peeps!!  I love to eat them especially if they are dipped in chocolate.  I also think they are super cute and a symbol of spring.  I was so excited when I saw the My Peeps D1402 stamp set in the new Close to my Heart catalog, and I knew I had to have it.  Here is the first card that I've made using this set.  I stamped the peeps and the eggs with Memento Tuxedo black and colored the images with Copics.  The scalloped circle paper is from a Martha Stewart holiday stack and the other paper is from the new Dear Lizzy collection 6x6 pad.  The punch is Martha Steward and the cardstock is CTMH.

Here is the CTMH promotion for March.  This is such an amazing deal!!  When you sign up to become a consultant this month you can choose between getting the Cricut Art Philosophy bundle or a $99 product credit.  If you have any questions about this just let me know.
